British Values - The Rule of Law.

Today we discussed the importance of rules and laws.

We played a variety of maths games (some with rules, some without) and we talked about how easy/difficult it was to play the games.

We decided  that it was far easier (and more fair!) to play a game if we knew the rules.

We looked at the various rules or laws that affect people in Britain, and we discussed;

- What would society be like if there were no rules?
- What happens if you break the rules?
- Are the rules fair for everyone?

British Values Week

This week, as a school, we will be learning all about British Values.

Today, we looked at Democracy (The rule of the People).   We formed six parties and thought carefully about our policies. These included ideas about improving the environment, education and healthcare.

Then, we had one minute to present our policies to the "electorate" and take questions (some of which were quite tough!).

Finally we had a vote.

There were four parties who got five votes each so we decided to form a coalition!

Egyptian Clothes.

Martha kindly brought in some fantastic clothes.  Her grandma brought them back from a holiday in Egypt!

Ancient Egyptian Masks

We have been busy creating Ancient Egyptian masks.

First we used the TASC wheel to generate ideas, decide on the best design and the materials that we would use.

Then we painted our masks gold or copper.

Next, we made templates on paper to help us make our headdresses.

Then, we decorated our headdresses in the style of the Ancient Egyptian masks we had seen in our research.

Guess who?

I think you'll agree - they are all FAN-TAS-TIC!
